Virtual communities can be very different, Xbox live is a virtual community and Facebook is also a virtual community. They are both different ends of the scale, Xbox live consists of gaming and speaking to other gamers via a headset whereas on Facebook you speak via the messaging service they provide but you can also play games on Facebook such as Farmville and Candy Crush. Google circles is another example of virtual communities, you can add your friends and family to different circles. This entitles you to host "Google Hangouts" where you can video call your circles. If you had a few people in your circle and you're wanting to see them all you can just simply change who you see by selecting the specific persons icon. This is a good feature of the internet.

In my opinion virtual communities is one of the biggest use of the internet. By communicating over xbox live you can communicate through other devices and not just xbox such as phones, laptops/computers and other devices. overall I agree with your statement.
